| To offer agility competitors the opportunity to compete for money, qualifying legs and points towards a championship title all in one run, PLUS have a Mulligan option! What do I get for my entry fee? You get to compete in 4 runs in a trial, 2 Standard and 2 Jumpers. What is the Mulligan option? After running Round 1, you have to choose to keep your score, or take a Mulligan and your score in Round 2 will be your Final Score. Only Final Scores are used for placement and cash awards. Is Round 2 the same course? Yes, Round 2 is the exact same course as Round 1. There are no walkthroughs for Round 2, as soon as Round 1 is complete and the scores are posted, Round 2 begins in with the same running order as Round 1. Won't the shelties and border collies always win the money? The great thing with Sweepstakes Agility, there are 9 jump height divisions, dividing up the competition more evenly amongst dog sizes. How do I get a Qualifying Score? You must have a clean run, no faults and within course time. Qualifying scores earn 10 points, which go towards Sweepstakes Agility titles. How much money can I win? Clubs are required to pay a minimum of 30% of the total entry fees back to the exhibitors. The money is divided equally between Standard and Jumpers classes. Can my club make any money if we have to pay back cash to the exhibitors? Sweepstakes Agility is committed to the exhibitors, who are the people who invest all of their time and energy into training their dog and should be rewarded for their efforts. Clubs should be able to easily break even or make a small profit putting on Sweepstakes Agility trials. There is minimal ribbon requirements and you can use any judge that is already judging for another agility venue. Check out the rule book and clubs page for more information on putting on a trial. Clubs are allowed to run extra non-sanctioned classes, with the profits of those classes going directly to the club. (Example: tunnelers, gamblers, FAST, snooker, etc.) |
